Although our staff and lay leadership come from diverse backgrounds and experience, they have one thing in common. Each is committed to sharing the Good News that

“God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

Rev. Paul Albers
Rev. Paul Albers

Pastor

Pastor Albers is a transplant to Omaha from South Dakota.  Before moving west, Pastor Albers spent most of his life growing up in northwest Indiana and traveling between Chicago, IL, and Memphis, TN to see family.  He is a graduate of Valparaiso University and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and is beyond thankful for the countless opportunities and blessings God gave him during those years.  When not in the office, Pastor and his wife Lisa care for their newborn daughter or walk with their dog Murphy. His hobbies include: renovation projects, carpentry, and puzzles.

Jill has been a member of Mount Olive all of her life. She previously worked for the church as a preschool helper, then as a preschool teacher. She has taught Sunday School intermittently for the last 30 years and held volunteer positions on many church boards and committees. She married her husband, Paul, in 1998, and they live in Raven Oaks. Her hobbies include reading and traveling.

Rachel Misiolek

Organist/Choir Director

Rachel has been Mount Olive’s Organist and Choir Accompanist since 2011. In 2019, she took on the added duties of Choir Director and Worship Planner. As an accomplished organist, pianist, and violinist, she is at the core of our congregation’s worship music. Rachel spends her days as a teacher with Omaha Public Schools in the music classroom. When she is not working she enjoys spending time at home relaxing with her husband, two daughters, and two young sons.

Bonnie White
Bonnie White

Treasurer

Bonnie’s mother invited her to Mount Olive as an adult. In Bonnie’s words, “It has proved to be a great church family for me.” Prior to retiring as a Contract Manager for Lincoln Financial Group, Bonnie crafted group health and life insurance policy provisions (which required regulatory approval from various state Department of Insurance regulators). Since retirement Bonnie spends her time traveling, working in her yard, enjoying the company of her friends, and (of course) keeping track of Mount Olive’s income and expenses.

Mark Sorensen
Mark Sorensen

Executive Director

Mark is a lifelong member of Mount Olive, baptized in our Fellowship Hall during a major remodeling project in the 1980s. He currently is serving as the Executive Director of Mount Olive. Most recently he served as the Director of Lay Ministry where he coordinated the staff and volunteers who support our worship life and the spiritual needs of our members. He spends his days as a librarian and most of his evenings on music, both choral and French Horn. Outside of those commitments, you’ll probably find him cooking, reading, or feeding cats.

Murphey
Murphy

Murphy is Pastor Albers’ dog and you can frequently find him throughout the week around the church property and at Mount Olive’s community events. He is very friendly and always happy to greet you, especially if you come bearing treats!
